- Reactivity: furfuryl alcohol has high chemical reactivity and can react with many compounds such as addition, esterification and etherification. Under the action of acid or oxygen in the air, it is easy to resinize, especially to strong acids, and often catches fire when the reaction is intense.
- Stability: It is stable to alkali, and when adding alkaline substances such as tripropylamine, it can prevent the trend of autooxidation.
- Danger: It is easy to polymerization and violent explosion in case of acid, resulting in resin that is not easy to dissolve. Vapor and air can form an explosive mixture with an explosion limit of 1.8% to 16.3%
