POLYVINYL ALCOHOL(PVA)
CAS:9002-89-5
Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) is an important synthetic polymer material
- Overview
- Recommended Products
- Appearance: White flakes/powder
- Solubility: soluble in hot water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in methanol, benzene, acetone, gasoline and other general organic solvents.
- Thermal stability: when heated, it does not melt, and dehydrated decomposition occurs at about 150℃, and the color turns yellow.
Hygroscopicity: It has certain hygroscopicity. - Film forming: easy to form film, the formed film is colorless and transparent, with good mechanical strength.
- Polyvinyl alcohol is a linear polymer with secondary hydroxyl group. The hydroxyl group in the molecule has high activity and can be esterified, etherified and acetalized. It also has the characteristics of resistance to weak acids, weak bases and organic solvents
- Textile Engineering:
- Warp sizing agent (yarn strengthening)
- Paper Manufacturing:
- Surface sizing (water resistance +30%)
- Coating Systems:
- Water-based paint formulations
- Adhesive Technology:
- Wood glue (VOC-free formulations)
- Fiber Production:
- Vinylon fiber manufacturing
- Pharmaceuticals:
- Capsule coatings & drug delivery
- Specialty Materials:
- Water-soluble packaging films
- Conductive polymer composites
