Vinyl Acetate Monomer (C₄H₆O₂) is a versatile acrylic ester serving as a cornerstone in modern polymer chemistry. This reactive monomer combines vinyl functionality with ester group versatility, enabling diverse macromolecular architectures.

  • Solubility: slightly soluble in water, soluble in alcohol, acetone, benzene, chloroform and other organic solvents.

  • Reactivity: contains carbon-carbon double bonds and ester groups, has a high chemical reactivity, can occur addition, polymerization, transesterification and other reactions.
  • Stability: Easily polymerized by heat, light or trace peroxide, usually with hydroquinone or diphenylamine as stabilizer
